The Jungle Bucket Water Filtration Systems
Your personal and family preparedness for the first hours and days on the heels of any serious crisis (sustained power outages, natural disasters, terrorist related threats whether biological or acts of sabotage or any situation that requires urban or wilderness survival ) is vital to your survival.
High on the list of priorities for sustained survivability is a source of safe, clean drinking water. ( Possibly the top of the list)
We at Applied Science feel that the solution to providing safe, clean drinking water should be comprehensive enough to solve all the major problems involved in making surface water ( ponds, creeks, streams, ditches, etc. ) clean and safe to drink, yet remaining simple to operate while producing enough safe drinking water for a family sized group.
While the technology involved in the "Jungle Bucket" filter/dispenser embodies the best of modern science, the five gallon treatment reservoir insures volume of treatment capability. Thus insuring enough of water per-treatment cycle to satisfy the drinking water demands of a family sized group.
The name "Jungle Bucket" while derived from its use as a wilderness survival tool, also applies to the "Urban Jungle" that so many of us occupy.
Though we may be a part of the "urban sprawl" or "inner city" that signifies civilization and human progress we are no less exempt from the need of safe, clean drinking water than anyone else. The huddled masses may experience an even greater need than our far flung neighbors and friends in more remote circumstances.
One of the features that puts the "Jungle Bucket" ahead of other systems is the fact of having a reservoir (5 gal) of treated water available to draw from and use to wipe down and sanitize your immediate occupied living space. Including food preparation surfaces, cooking, eating and drinking utensils of possible bacterial and viral contamination.
Experience has shown that folks *who are forced by circumstances to live in close proximity to each other are susceptible to cholera, diphtheria, anthrax and other harmful bacteria or viral outbreak. The house hold bleach used to treat the water in your "Jungle Bucket", practically eliminates this threat if used properly.
Once treated with regular *house hold bleach ( nothing added such as detergents or aromatic scents) you will then use the hand operated pump to force the water from the reservoir through the filter/dispenser.
On entering the filter/dispenser, the water must pass through a very fine screen with pores .08 micron in size. This screen filters out harmful protozoa ( cryptosporidium, giardia, etc. ) that is often found in surface water.
Next, the water passes through *silver impregnated activated carbon to remove the household bleach and other impurities, after which the water passes through another media designed to remove*heavy metals such as arsenic, leads, etc.
As for another feature included in the "Jungle Bucket" system to increase your survivability odds, we have added a sealed container of powdered food supplement that " per serving" contains the nutrition provided in a full meal. Two scoops stirred into 10oz. of clean, safe water provided by your "Jungle Bucket" system provides a tasty nutritional boost at a time when it is needed most.
Your "Jungle Bucket" system has been successfully field tested in the Rocky Mountains, the swamps and marshes along the U.S. Gulf Coast and primitive areas of Central and South America.
Notes:
*Information regarding the use of house hold bleach to treat drinking water against harmful bacteria and virus provided by the "Chlorine Council."
* Silver impregnated carbon does not kill bacteria but prevents it from growing. (Bacteria static)
*The "Jungle Bucket" system has been laboratory tested for the effective removal of arsenic and bacterial contamination.
